Dusk ...

Dusk is a beautiful time of day ... my favorite time of day, actually :)
I saw a double rainbow today while in traffic ...
Sometimes being delayed has its advantages :)

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Rock N' Roll Lady!

Warning: you will be inundated with photos :)

It was St. Patrick's Day this Saturday ... but it was also the day of the Rock N' Roll Marathon in DC. It was Dorsa's big day, the day she's been talking about and training for the past several months. I was excited about this day since I had never been to a marathon and I was excited for Dorsa to get a good time for her race :)

I woke up at 5:50 am and fed Achilles and Abby (my parents are on vacation in Florida so I am watching Abby for them) and let them outside. Then headed over to Dorsa and Erik's. We left for the metro at 6:30 am and arrived at 6:45 am. Finally on the metro ... zoom, zoom, zooming on the metro lots of people participating in the marathon were boarding at every spot ... the train was really getting crowded and theeennn ... we were stopped at the Smithsonian metro station. The train sat there for 10 or so minutes before the conductor asked everyone to evacuate the train because there was something wrong with the train and it had to be looked at. This is what it looked like after all those people evacuated the train and were stranded on the platform.

There was a lot more people on that platform then you can see ... the crowd goes way back. So Erik and I decided to leave Dorsa as she caught the next train and we went walking through DC up Constitution.

What it looks like in DC at 7:45 am

It looks like the end of the world ... empty DC streets ...

Erik and I watch the race from about the 6 mile mark in the race. So for half marathoners it was about half way through and for marathoners it was only about a quarter the way through.

Dorsa didn't start her race until 8:42 am ... the race started around 8 am. Dorsa was the only person I wanted to see in the race among 30,000 other racers ... that's a lot of people. We finally saw her around 9:35 or so :)

That's Dorsa in the yellow and Brandy in the green :) Yaaaaay Go Ladies!!!

Way to go Dorsa you did it in 2:11!!!! I am very proud of you and so happy to have been there :)

Vacation Fever!!!

This is a photo of Montego Bay, Jamaica. It looks so pretty, I'm drooling just to be there. I have not been on a vacation in 3 years. My last vacation was during the summer of 2009 ... I was in Lake Geneva, WI at my aunt and uncle's lake house. It's a very nice place to take a vacation because the only thing you have to pay for is your flight over there, everything else is easy peasey :) Nice beach, delicious lunches and dinners together, fire pits and marshmellow roastings, water skiing and tubing, reading on the hammock, great company, it's got it all!! And it is the kind of vacation I have taken before many summers in the past. Here is a picture of me on that vacation :)

It is now the spring of 2012 and I am just dying to get my feet in some warm sand and a margarita in my right hand and listen to the waves roll in and just do ... nothing! That is a vacation to me ... doing nothing and worrying about nothing :)

David has also not been on a vacation in a few years and he is looking forward to a week long break from ... everything!! We have decided on a vacation location (that rhymed haha) and it is in Montego Bay, Jamaica. David really wants the all-inclusive resorts because you're not pulling out your wallet for everything you want from drinks to food to enjoying the amenities ... it's all included with your package and that's what makes it a vacation!

I am already pumped for it and I keep bringing it up to David and I am probably bugging him at this point but he has already assured me that this trip is going to happen so I can stop reminding him about it ... teehee :) hiiii.

We want to go during the week of our birthdays. My birthday is July 25th and his is July 28th so we were thinking of going from Sunday to Sunday ... 22nd - 29th. We could always do a Monday to a Monday since we would be leaving the day after David's birthday but that would mean we would be missing more then a week of work so probably not. But it's a possibility!

Anyway, long story short, I am very excited and I am now counting down the days ... 130 days left.

Wine and Cheese Party

I woke up at 8:30 am on a Saturday ... why do you ask? Because I had an appointment with Wa, my hair dresser since I was 12 yrs old, at 10:30. I was excited about it but still wasn't sure how I wanted my hair cut. I at least wanted my hair to be cut shorter but only a few inches and with layers :) So the above picture is what I got. Sorry I got distracted and forgot to take pictures of what it looked like from the back because the light coming in from the window inspired me to just take a hundred pictures of myself ... which I have not done in a while, haha.

Saturday night was Dorsa and Erik's Wine and Cheese party .... so much food and wine and all delicious!!!!!

These were the jalapeno poppers that Dorsa and Erin were making when I arrived with my cheese logs and crackers :) The jalapeno spice got in the air and it made my throat scratchy so I don't think I tried any jalapeno poppers but they still looked good wrapped in that bacon :)

These are the rainbow wheel cookies ... which turned into just rainbow cookies ... they were so yummmy like sugar cookies and I think I ate like 12 of them :D

These were the wine glasses ... apparently Dorsa has like 33 wine glasses :)

Double fisting like a pro :) You can see the layers a little more in this photo via Dorsa's awesome camera!!!

This was a delicious spread of grapes and cheese ... mmmmm.

Awww Buzzie and Me :)

This is evidence of me eating those rainbow cookies like it was my job :)

Yaaaaaaay!! It was a good night and the company was really nice :) I think I have hosting a wine and cheese party/house warming party for when I get a house .... so that is set for my future :)

Bath Time ... Oy Ve

Finally it is Friday!!!!

Most people would do something fun and/or relaxing on a Friday night ... some people give their dog a bath. Correction: David gave Achilles a bath because I gave Achilles his last bath and he was so obnoxious the whole time. Well he was still obnoxious this time around too ... oy ve!

Dogs just don't like getting wet. Either that or they just really enjoy smelling like stinky socks, or like stagnant water. Achilles likes to drink stagnant water but that's another story. Anyway, when Achilles first got wet from the shower he realized what was really going on and decided to bail ... leaving puddles in his wake. So David picked up Achilles to carry him back to the tub ... well I was standing against the wall trying to document the event and as he was walking by Achilles was flailing his legs everywhere trying to escape his fate ... I was struck by his sharp, jagged nails ... gaaaaaawwwwd that hurt!!!! Not going to lie I cried ... it was a surprising pain and it looked bad.

Vicious ... I know. Happened along my collar bone.

Good thing I had some cadbury eggs to make me feel better :) Also Achilles smells great now so that also made me feel better ... thank you sweetie :)

Not what I had in mind for a Friday night but I can't complain. It was the weekend the next day and I got to spend it with my 2 favorite boys :)

A Much Needed Day Off

Wednesday I woke up at 6 am and had a bad head ache. I felt awful so I took some pain killers for it hoping by 8:30 am the head ache would be gone and I could get ready for work...that did not happen. I only felt worse. I took that as a sign to take it easy for the day and get some more rest. It was really nice staying in bed until after 2 pm. But then I got up and realized how beautiful the weather was outside :)

I took advantage of it and decided to sit on the porch for a little bit and enjoy the fresh air. I let Achilles out and watched him play around out back from the porch. He was really cute :)

After Lejia came home from work she made me spaghetti with meat sauce :) It was so yummmmy....I love spaghetti. Thanks roomie!!!

And then when David came over he brought me some cadbury eggs :) I was craving them!!! Thank you sweetie :)

Thursday I was feeling much better and I had made plans with Hana and Anya to go out for dinner and just chill together. Hana was home for spring break from JMU and I had not seen her since New Year's so I was happy to spend time with her :)

So we went to TGIFridays...it was so yummmmy mmmm :) I wanted something like jambalaya so I settled for the cajun shrimp pasta with alfredo sauce ... best decision everrr, get it next time you visit there :) I forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry and could only focus on the deliciousness ... but I did get a picture of the dessert I got.

Orea Madness anyone .... whaaaaat!!!! Ugh it was so good!!! Orea ice cream between 2 giant frozen oreo cookies mmmmmmm :) I would go back just for that dessert.

This week was full of good food and now I am excited about the wine and cheese party coming up this Saturday at Dorsa and Erik's :)

To Be Continued ...

Decisions, Decisions...

So David and I have been talking about living together. Where I live right now is best location from my family, friends, and from work, so I really want to continue living where I am. Plus, it's a house and living in a house will always beat out living in an apartment any day.

We have a dog now :) He is a very energetic dog and he needs space to play and having a back yard/front yard is perfect and where I'm living now has that for him.

But I don't want to write all the pros and cons for moving out/staying in this post. I am just informing the blogging world what is going on in my life right now. Those are just a couple of the points I have for why I would like to continue living where I have been living for five months.

This is a big decision and David and I are still discussing it so you will know very soon what our decision is for our living situation.

At some point David and I would like to buy and move into our own house...with all the things that are convenient...like storage space and a back yard and stainless steel appliances *cough, cough* :) But I see that happening further down the line. I am in no hurry to have my own place but it is getting close to crunch time for the next step we're going to take. David's lease for his place is up end of April....so I guess you'll have to wait and see what the ultimate decision is :)

One day that could be us ....
Eating breakfast at the table ... awkwardly and lil hung over ;)

6 Months

It's been 6 months that David and I have been together...man time flies by!! :)

I'm Odie...definitely because he's kind of odd...David is Garfield because...they both like lasagna!!!! Duhh!!

I was supposed to get my hair cut on Saturday...but Wa my hair dresser was all booked! That never happens...she can always squeeze me in last minute because it takes 5 minutes to cut my hair :) But I have an appointment with her next Saturday so you can see pictures then!

Saturday was also the day I got my annual migraine...sigh...ugh migraines suck!

But it went away pretty quickly after a nap and then it was dinner time and I was starving!! David wanted to go to this mexican taco place that was next door...but when we got there it was closed down...sad. So then we decided on Austin Grill....and when we got there....it was also closed down...sad again. So we decided to go to California Tortilla because we wanted burritos. They were really good btw. But that place was full of kids (it was a little odd). And the soda dispenser was awesome...way too many flavors to choose from...but strawberry lemonade, very yummmy :)

Didn't feel like seeing a movie at the theatre so we went back to David's place and watched How I Met Your Mother....good night if I do say so myself :)

And thennnn...Sunday morning I made pancakes :) For a certain someone :)

"Mickey Mouse!!!" Were David's famous words :)
After breakfast we went to see David's cousin in a play "Damn Yankees". It was a dinner theatre so we were fed "dinner" but it was really lunch time....there was mashed potatoes, win!!! Mashed potatoes were the best part of the "dinner"....the fruitini I got was pretty strong...definitely got a buzz from it haha! Mikey was the one we saw in the play and it was really nice to meet him he was very charming (it must run in the family).

So that was my weekend...I would say having a lazy weekend was a success :)
