Dear Lauren, Where have you been?

Blahhh it has been a very busy couple of weeks that I have not found time to do the blogging. Some catching up to do: David moved in Memorial Day weekend! That was fun let me tell you....

It was so hot and humid that Saturday...David rented a U-Haul since he didn't have very much stuff and no one wanted him to spend $800 on movers when he can rent a moving truck for $100. David's awesome friend and Assistant Coach, Mohib helped us move and his help was greatly appreciated, thanks Mohib!!

We were so glad once the move in process was over and we all wanted to celebrate by going to our favorite Korean food place Honey Pigggg....(drool) and take Soju shots!!! Woooot that was a good idea :) Plus it's smooth alcohol so you don't feel disgusted by the taste with every shot.

Anya and Maedeh came with his to Honey Pig as well so that was awesome and made it tons more fun! Afterwards we went to Cafe Tu Ah for more drinking, of course! Sigh it was a very good night and a perfect ending to the day :)

I took a few pictures of all of this but didn't feel like uploading them....lazy, ha!

Mom's 60th!!!

This Mother's Day happened to fall right before my mom's 60th Birthday!!! We're used to having a Mother's Day and a Birthday for my mom since these two things fall around the same time :) Anya planned a morning brunch for Bob and she made prosciutto and cheese grilled sandwiches...so delicious!

The weather was so beautiful that we ate outside on the patio :)

Then we all came back over to Bob's house for her Birthday dinner. Anya made the strawberry cake that we were having for dessert :) Everyone pitched in by making sides for the steak dinner :) I made  cooked asparagus with parmesan...brilliant!

We had our dinner out on the patio, same as brunch...we're consistent like that :)

Improv to Rumors

So two weeks ago was my friend Laurene's 25th Birthday. We went to Lyon Hall in Clarendon for brunch and the food was amazing.....I was so hungry when we got there!! Harmony got the french toast...mmmmm

I ordered this!!!! Smoked salmon with spinach and poached eggs....*drooling*

It was a really nice brunch and I got to see some old friends :)

This little lady is Laurene....you pronounce it Laureeeeeene :) The Birthday girl.

This past Friday night was the BBQ Lejia hosted at the house. So much food! Lejia made so many cupcakes but I only took a picture of one of them....

This little guy right here :) Sorry I didn't take any other photos but there so much going on I didn't have time to pause and take pictures.

Saturday night was Improv show in DC. Godfrey, the comedian of the night was hilarious!! He talked about his childhood and what it was like having immigrant parents from Nigeria. "I would like the meat with the bread and the potato slices" "You know how people who have nubs, clap?" He was so funny, definitely a good start to a fun night!

Afterwards we went to Rumors to watch the last minutes of the Caps game hoping for a win.....but they lost sadly :( But that was not how we all planned for the night to end so we had some drinks and danced into the night :) The group of us included me, David, Lejia, Hyo, Dorsa, Erik, Jan, Sarah, Luke and Allie :) A very good night with you all!! Here are some pictures from that night :)

Madness

I read over this post and it didn't make sense to me once I read it so I decided to repost it :)

Today is Tuesday night...I feel like I have been in a funk since Friday afternoon. Last weekend (almost 2 weeks ago) I found out from David that he has to wait another month to move in...long story but he will be moving-in in three weeks, Memorial Day weekend! Gives me the opportunity to look forward to it for another few weeks :)

I finally have a gym membership along with David, my mom and Anya. So we can all go together....or not...either way we'll work on getting back into shape, wooot!!

Anyway back to my "funk". I realized that I was letting little things bother me and then letting them get bigger then they actually were. Does that ever happen to anyone else? Well sometimes I over analyze things and that is where I start letting those little things get to me. I have been trying to let those things go for several months so I decided if I wrote a post about it I would be able to let them go for good!

So that's that and now I am looking forward to this busy month....seriously May is a busy month....lots of birthdays...Dorsa, Erik, Mom, Hyo...Mother's Day...Memorial Day...shows and movies to go to...baseball games....its' nuts! Annnd I can't wait to enjoy all of it :)
