Either he is aware of how handsome he is ... or it could be his love of human food ... and cheese that bring out his adorable side :) who could resist that face?
There are a lot of things I have learned about dogs while having Achilles. Some times are good and some times are frustrating but as long as he is happy and we love him that's all that matters :)
