2012
Hey bloggy people!

When we left the National Harbor it was after 2 am and everyone wanted the same thing...Honey Pig!!!!
So we went to Honey Pig and stuffed our faces and it was goooooood :) We are so doing this again next year...Hotel, Dance, Drink, Honey Pig!!! Not necessarily in that order because it's New Year's and we do what we want, yeah!!!
I know I always write my posts a little late but I have been kinda busy so excuse my rudeness to the blogger gods.
So it's 2012 today and I must say the past year was a great one :) A lot of things happened, good and bad and I can honestly say I have learned a lot and for once I actually feel good looking back on year 2011. Probably because I feel I learned the most about myself and learned to accept that not everything goes according to plan. But I'm still here and I have my wonderful family, my lovely friends and an amazing boyfriend so I have nothing to complain about :)
This New Year's my roomie Lejia and Hyo invited us to the Gaylord Hotel at the National Harbor in DC for the New Year's party that they host every year. I have never gone out to a party for new year's so I was excited about this! I bought a dress just for the occasion and it was so much fun!! My good friend Tasya and her friend Hannah came along as well so that was even more awesome!

We danced into the night until my feet were screaming at me haha! But it was so great ringing in the New Year with awesome friends :)

Light Show!
So Christmas evening we all sat down and watched The Family Stone...an awesome Christmas movie that everyone should see :)
Just before the movie I (finally) started to make the salty kisses that Dorsa made a few weeks earlier that I thought were so good and so simple to make that I wanted to make some too! So.....
....I did and it was goooood :) Some of the kisses I used were caramel-filled so excuse the oozy-ness.
After those were made Dorsa and Erik told us about this house that has the most awesome Christmas light show. The lights were set up to be in sync with the radio 107.9 and it was awesome! All you had to do was park your car in front of the house and tune into 107.9 and listen and watch...it was fantastic!!
Good ending to a wonderful day :)

Merry Christmas!!!
I love Christmas :) This year was fun because I got all my gifts in a timely manner (hurray for Amazon) and once I had everything...it was Christmas eve before we knew it!
Christmas eve was great. I went over to my parents house and spent a few hours there to finish up some gift wrapping. Then I got all my stuff together (David's gifts, change of clothes for x-mas dinner and such) and headed over to David's place. I had Achilles with me from the night before and we made a plan that I would meet up with David at Petco and we would buy Achilles some x-mas toys and Taj as well :)
Once that was done we went back to David's and I got ready for the dinner and gave David one of his gifts...a burgundy sweater that fit him really nice! Yaaaay!
Then we went to dinner and when I saw the gifts under the tree I was floored once again at how many presents there were.
My mom made a delicious ham and it was so yummy...like butter on crack or something!!!
Then we opened our gifts! I got new clothes and a snowboarding helmet :) Annnnd 2 monkey ornaments that said "David" and "Lauren" on them from my mom...soo cute :)
Yaaaaaay! I love Chrismtas <3

We Got a Dog :)
I have not posted anything on this blog in a while...sorry I have been very lazy and pre-occupied with things. One of which I am about to tell you about :)
David has wanted a dog since I first met him. He had a border collie several years ago but she passed away when she got cancer, she was only 2 or 3 years old at the time. He loves dogs so much and he knew he would get another dog someday. Well today was that day!
But first to tell you how it all started. Last week David found a rescue site online called Lucky Dog Rescue that saves dogs from being euthanized from various kennels. He saw "Eddie" the australian shepherd, blue merle 1.5 years old and fell in love with him instantly. I think it was those ice, blue eyes of his :) He contacted some people from the Lucky Dog Rescue...a few emails, phone calls and a home visit later he was approved to adopt "Eddie", who he wanted to name "Achilles".
A few hours before we were scheduled the pick up "Achilles" we bought some doggie supplies at the PetCo. Then we went to Subway and David did a "puppy dance" because we had less then an hour until "Achilles" arrived.
Afterwards we drove to the meeting place where the rescue team was dropping off several dogs to new owners. While we waited for him to arrive David filled out the adoption paperwork for "Achilles". It was so cold outside so I spent some time in the car to keep warm.
Not too long after "Achilles" was here and he popped right out of his crate to say 'Hello!'
After we picked up Achilles we drove straight to Erik and Dorsa's house so Ella could meet/play with Achilles and also so Achilles could make a new friend/best friend/wife. Yeah they pretty much got married to each other upon meeting :) They ran around and around in the backyard and had a lot of fun....until Achilles decided to jump into the pond in Dorsa's backyard...so gross. So David had to give him a bath even though we had planned on giving him one the next day anyway so it all kind of worked out. After the bath Achilles looked a lot better and smelled better too!
He is a very good dog and was already bonding with David from the start :) We took him to Lejia and my place and he followed us everywhere we went it was so cute!
He's the best dog and David and I are really happy we chose him to adopt because he has so sweet and has already filled that little "empty" place in our hearts :)
Christmas is in a week and I will be sure to post stuff from then!!!
